Community Based Organization (CBO) Eligibility:

Eligible community-based organizations (CBOs) within these 50 Leadership Cities will be provided free access to the GEM platform for 2021.

Eligible CBOs will get:

  1. A registration link for staff or members. Members must register using their organization associated email address.  

  2. Access to all the GEM features, data, and maps for their home city through the end of 2021. 

  3. Membership in the GEM Community of Practice and access to networking and learning activities with experts and other GEM users from around the country.

Criteria for eligible community-based organizations:

  1. Local nonprofit organization 

  2. Annual budgets under $5 million

  3. Working to advance equity

Criteria Details:

1. Local nonprofit organization. Local chapters of larger organizations may be eligible. 

2. Annual budgets under $5 million. Applies to the activities of the community-based organization. Independently funded projects or fiscally sponsored organizations may be considered based on the budgets for their local work.

3. Working to advance equity. Includes one or more of the following characteristics:

  • Led by BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) people.

  • Serving the needs of BIPOC communities

  • Building power in BIPOC communities 

  • Working to serve needs and build power in other disproportionately negatively impacted and historically marginalized communities.
